Primary Function: To clamp or fasten an object or machine component with a strong, precise force, especially in situations where the handle's final position must be clear of obstructions or set to a specific angle.

Mechanism: The lever uses a ratcheting mechanism:

Tightening: The user rotates the handle (the black part) to thread the screw (the metal stud) into the mating part, applying clamping force.

Repositioning: When the handle hits an obstruction or the user needs to achieve a specific final position, they lift the handle (pull it away from the mounting point). This disengages the internal serrations (splines) between the handle and the threaded stud.

Adjusting: While disengaged, the handle can be freely rotated 360 degrees without moving the screw/stud.

Re-engaging: The user releases the handle, and a spring pushes it back into the serrations, re-engaging the drive mechanism for further tightening or to lock the final position.
